Outline Design & Feasibility Study

Selection of sites and design of the wave or tidal farm layout to maximise project returns while meeting all known constraints:
• Physical constraints from consents or concessions
• Main cost-drivers: tidal or wave resource; depths, subsoils, access limitations, cabling costs
• Inter-device effects and electrical system losses
Feasibility study on projects to identify key technical risks and factors impacting on economics:
• Device selection
• Support structure
• Electrical configuration
• Installation and maintenance solutions
• Capital and operating costs
• Energy production.
Front-end engineering design studies to refine the design solutions likely to be applied and inform the onward development and contracting of the project with the aim of minimizing life-cycle costs.

Investigation of site conditions

We specify and manage site surveys in the following areas:
• Geophysical
• Geotechnical
• Wave and current measurement
• Metocean modelling
• Definition of design basis for the purposes of specification and design of the plant
